What is this I don't even

This is so good, I can't even find words to describe it! Favorite'd and downloaded for future listening pleasure!
Oh, and you should totally do more chiptunes, you're really good at 'em.

GundayMatt responds:

I'm making an hour+ long album right now. I'll throw it up on bandcamp in the next few weeks when it's done (work is killing my free time right now). I have some older chiptunes up if you can't wait:

Mima-samaaaaaaaa!

Oh god I love this so much, Mima is my favorite Touhou character, and her theme in PoDD is freakin' awesome!
And I think you really did a wonderful job with this, it's a little odd to not have any percussion in the first half, but it's still good.

Somaru responds:

Why thankee! The lack of percussion was used to create a sort of buildup... Of sorts... Heh. Heh.

HOLY CRAP

Finally, a Darkstalkers remix! Major props to you, my good sir!
I like the composition a lot.

Mr-Roc-a-fella responds:

Hey I did my best, that all I can do right? Thanks

Wow

Magma Rock is not my favorite song from GS, but you did a really good job on this.
It's simple and sounds great. I really like the synth you used.
^^

Reaper93 responds:

Thanks a lot, if you have any requests let me know and I'll do my best!

Out of curiosity...

Did you perhaps make a MIDI of this a long time ago under the name of Justus Johnston? Because the arrangement is exactly like a MIDI I downloaded from VGMusic almost 3 years ago. According to the data of the file on VGMusic, it was submitted to the site in early 2003. The only difference is that the instruments in this one have been changed slightly so that they sound better. But other than that, everything is the same. The tempo, the length of the song, the style, and even the ending.
I'm going to give this an 8, because, hell, for all I know, you could very well be Justus Johnston. But if you're not, then you should be ashamed for not crediting him, blah blah blah... well, you get the picture.
Otherwise, good job.

Charem responds:

Good observation! But actually, neither conclusion is quite right. I emailed Justin to see if he'd be okay with me rearranging his tune, and he didn't mind. In fact, he said he was pretty indifferent to that old tune he made, and said I could do whatever I wanted with it. I guess he was working on some new music projects, and considered this arrangement to be of lower quality than what he was working on, so he actually asked me NOT to credit him. So I didn't. XP Hope that clears things up!

Speak of the devil...

I just got done reviewing the demo and then saw this! I feel like such a sloooowpoke. XD
I'ma give this a 10, because it is awesome and made of win.
Also, downloaded! :3 I can't wait to see what songs you'll do next!

Reaper93 responds:

Thanks a lot, this was the first mix I ever put in more than a few hours on (hopefully that shows) and indeed where I learned a LOT of FL Studio's features in, this release of this mix is where I learned how to do drums without them sounding like total fail ;)

Up next I'm thinking probably something with a bit more electronic inspiration than orchestral.

Very Nice.

Since this is only the demo, I can understand why it's missing the drums, but I think that it will really come together when you add them, so I'ma give you a 9. It awesome, but needs some percussion. Not a lot, just some.
Anyway, good job! I can't wait until it's finished.

Reaper93 responds:

A review even on older work is appreciated. Everything an artist can get is a huge help :)

Best Disgaea Remix EVAR

Of course, considering this is the ONLY Disgaea remix on here, it has to be the best. But even if there were other remixes here, yours would still be one of the best! You should totally do some other songs from the game, you really captured the feel of this one.

Laikros responds:

Lmao, you have a point. xD
Thank you. :3

Pretty good!

My only complaint is that... is that a tom-tom drum or a xylophone? I don't know, but whatever it is, you should get rid of it, and replace it with something else. I don't know what, but I think if you do that, this would be the most awesome song ever.
Aside from that, it's very nice! ^_^

Mental-Note responds:

that instrument your hearing is an orchestra hit...which i, at the time, was fond of and i stil am...but when i get finale i'll try and remix more songs
